Yes, it will work with the PS5 (or any gaming console for that matter). The one thing about it is that the PS5 will format it to the Sony native format and you will only be able to use it for extra storage on the PS5 or PS4. I used one of mine for extra game storage and then ended up transferring to an even bigger drive later. When I tried to connect this drive to my computer it wouldn't recognize it so I don't think that I am able to format it for use with a PC again. Not really a big deal though since I have others that I can use.
