“I've had a WD 1TB Passport drive for six months and back up weekly. Tried to back up it said "not enough space";asked if I wanted to delete some files. Said yes, several times but only min was deleted. It now asks me If I want to delete all files. Why?”

try deleting the oldest backup file(s) before next backup.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would not rely on the system to decide which files are to be deleted. If I got a "not enough space" message, I would do a directory listing of the files on the passport drive and decide which ones to delete, and delete them myself, and not rely on the system. Note that you should get a "detail" listing which gives you the file sizes. Also if you right click on folders you can see how much space they are taking up. This helps in deciding which ones to delete.
