• The hard drive will be limited by your USB connection speed. Generally you need to increase you available memory (RAM) to make your pc able to handle more. If your PC has a large amount of RAM already (8+GB) then maybe your CPU is just slow. Your pc could also be infected with various malware that could be slowing it down... if you dont know how to check, maybe take it somewhere for analysis. This wont make your pc faster or make working with files faster than an internal drive normally.
