Depend on how much space you used up on first backup. if there's enough space for your laptop, I think you can. As for Mac user, I know I can use two computers on same backup device.

It can be used as a external backup of my hard disc. I usually set my back at one time a week usually sunday at 8 or 9 PM

You can set up multiple backups on the drive - you just have to name them separately. You can back up both your PCs provided the total space you need does not exceed the size of the drive.

If your laptop has standard memory, I would think this could easily hold all that memory. I have loaded several high volume files to this drive, and have only used a fraction of it's memory capacity.

Short answer, yes. I back up several computers to a single drive. Just back up to a separate folder on the drive for each computer (so you don't confuse which backup files are for which computer). If one of the computers is a Mac, create a separate partition and format it for Mac, then back up each computer to the appropriate partition.
