Although I personally do not use the supplied back up program that WD includes, it would appear that this does not do disk-imaging, just file backup.

Please try again later.I did a full backup of my hard drive, although I used the open-source "Clonezilla" software on a bootable USB thumb drive to actually do the backing up. The WD drive worked great as a destination, and I was impressed with the speed, using a USB 3.0 "SuperSpeed" port. Clonezilla is free and worked great for me. I was working with a Windows-to-Linux conversion, and Clonezilla will back up just about anything. http://clonezilla.org/
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes I used the program that pass port tech gave me called WD smartware Pro. You can tell it to do wxactly what you want it to do. In fact I did mine this way using this program, just call the tech dept and they will assist you. I have the same hard drive as you.
