“We bought and installed this unit and it works well, but we cannot find any way to cancel or reset a function. If we put it into defrost, there's no way to stop it. It insist to finish defrosting before you can do anything else! Where is the cancel?”

Should be able to cancel it by justbpressing the x button on the outside front
