There are electric heating elements used during convection oven and air fry modes. There is a resistive heating element in the left wall around the convection fan that glows red while it's being used, and there is an element in the top that points down during air fry mode. The top element appears to be more of a strong light bulb type of heating element. Based on the measurements from my power meter while using the different modes, it does not appear that the oven uses the microwave feature while using convection or air fry modes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The convection oven mode does not use microwaves. The air fry does use microwaves at the beginning of the cook. I found this out when I tried to use the air fry mode with my own rectangular metal rack. When the turntable turned the rack so that it contacted the back of the oven, it began to arc. It uses microwaves for the first couple of minutes, then it switches to the electric heating element at the top of the oven.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As far as I know there isn’t any microwaves used. But why buy this just get an regular convection oven.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not sure if the MICROWAVE RADIATION is the cause, but all the food we've cooked has the most pleasant glow. It really helps set the mood at dinner time.
