This microwave is large and designed with several wall attach points, at the bottom rear for resting on, and at the top for attachment to the bottom of a wall cabinet. The exhaust can be in the room, or by altering the air flow of the fans at the top - for exhausting outside, with proper installation of duck work. I am not clear on the question, relative to it being built on top of a cabinet. Good luck !!
