A:AnswerI am pretty sure that it comes ice maker ready, but it doesn't mean you have to use it. I takes up minimal space in the freezer. We have one and we are not using it, and it isn't presenting a problem for us.

A:AnswerBeth, no refrigerator will extended the life of fruit and veggies beyond a few days. There are bags you can purchase that will extend the life of fruit and veggies a little longer. I've kept fresh fruit and veggies for about 7-10 days. After that they will start going bad.
