can I purchase a ice maker for this unit null

Whirlpool support is wrong here, the ECKMFEZ2 is not the correct ice maker. That ice maker has an 8 terminal electrical connection but this fridge has a 5 terminal. I talked to Whirlpool support and the correct model of ice maker is W11517113 despite what the manual says and what support is saying on this website. I bought that model and now it’s connected and working.

ron- Yes there is an optional Ice Make for this Refrigerator. Part # ECKMFEZ2

Yes, you can purchase the ice maker from Best Buy. It's $100. Works great.
