I just looked at mine. It looks like it can, it doesn't look molded into the space. However, it may have mounting brackets, etc behind it. I wouldn't know till I took it out, which I don't want to do. It's a nice LARGE ice bin, very convenient, and I personally LOVE it! Then again, I do have a separate stand-alone freezer in my garage.
