Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.After reading the manual for this model on the Whirlpool website, it specifically says that it must be kept above a temperature of 55F. If your winter temperatures normally fall below this temperature, then do not put it in a garage. In response to the individual that answered this question by saying Best Buy Lies, there is nothing in this listing from Best Buy that suggests it will work in a garage, only incorrect answers from random individuals.

I bought this for my garage and I let my garage get down to 40 degrees which makes the freezer useless as the only thermostat is in the refrigerator. It won't keep the freezer cold when it gets below 55 degrees so I have to turn the natural gas heater in the garage up to 55 degrees when it's cold out which is horribly inefficient. I recommend against this freezer for garage use.

But NOW IN THE WINTER, we have freezer food thawing and fridge food freezing!!! Cant believe we spent extra money for false advertisement!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED BEST BUY!!!
