• I have one in the garage and never had any problems. I live in Alexandria, VA, the weather is the same as in Richmond.

• That's the purpose for which we bought this unit. We have owned it for a couple of months. We live in Northern Virginia, we have it in an unheated garage and, so far, it has operated as it should.

• While it may not get as cold where I live (SE WA), our garage is not heated and we had a couple weeks of 15-20 degree temp's. We did not add an ice maker so not water line was needed. Everything (coil, light, etc.) works just fine. hope this helps some.
