“Our refrigerator is located across from the sink in our kitchen. Is it possible to somehow get a water line where there isn't one? I'm seriously considering buying this model.”

Your sink has nothing to do with your fridge. If you purchase a fridge with an ice maker,water, you MUST BUY A SPECIAL WATER LINE KIT TO INSTALL. These kits are stainless steel, and have a shut off valve to control water. You will need a plumber to install on your 1/2 water pipes, unless you are handy. Some dealers will install if you buy from them, but you really need the (built in kit). There are no short cuts, I have over 30 years experience. I hope this helps you, this is a case of, do it correct, or you will have problems, do not skimp. "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR". The proper kits are less than $30, and worth every penny. Once installed correctly, it will last over 20 years, I know, my kit is nearing 40 years, second fridge. Wish you luck on your decision. Try and purchase a name brand kit for your water, do not skimp, to save 5 bucks.
