A:AnswerDoesn't matter. Don't buy it. Cheap junk . Water dispenser doesn't really chill the water. comes out tap temp and Whirlpool won't do anything about it.

A:AnswerYes the ice maker can be removed but it doesn't have slots to add a shelf as far as i can see. Also it took me a few weeks of hearing a strange noise to figure out you must remove the ice maker to turn it off if you do not connect the water line like i chose not to.
