Hi Laura, the shelves are approximately 10" wide however they are adjustable.. If you click on the link to the product, https://bit.ly/3NGDpEw if you go to the "interactive tool and documents" link just below the image of the product, there will be an image of the unit with both doors open and common items inside, to help you get an idea of storage space.
