The "7" is full height, 34.5" opening. The "A" is shorter by .5", at 34.0" nominal opening. The main reason to chose the "A" is if there was flooring added after the cabinets & counters were installed, because this decreases the available height for a dishwasher.

Phil is absolutely not correct. Sure, the tape measure shows a difference, but there are adjustable legs on the bottom of both units. These two units are the same height. In fact, the 88-page manual is the same one for both models.

not a best buy salesperson, but after looking at both models, one has a different handle and trim on the front and one also advertises a one hour cycle and the other doesn't. Recommend looking them up on best buy website side by side to see the differences.

To my understanding, the WDTA50 is the same as the WDT750 with exception that the A50 has a flush facade, with a recessed handle, and the 750 has Whirpool's signature curved handle.
