Yes it does! If I would have known about how noisy this Whirlpool side by side is, I wouldn't have purchased it. We have an open floor plan so the noise carries to our family room. We've had it for about 6 months. I thought I might get used to the noise, but I haven't.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It makes reasonable amount of noise expected when the ice drops and the water is sucked in for the ice maker. Not sure what people who complained about the noise were expecting.

I have a service call for them to come out and check it. I will post here when I hear what the service tech says... This post - the orig. post was here 7 yrs ago and this Whirlpool 28 cu ft side by side is STILL MAKING this NOISE is sad - the company must think it is ok... put this in the president of the company's house AND he would be returning it...

I live out in the country on some acreage and can hear vehicles off the highway 1000 yards away and a train 2 miles a way but I don’t really notice the noise from this fridge. The only noise to me would be the ice maker dropping but after the first few times I don’t really notice it anymore and I don’t think it’s any worse than any other fridge would be. I also have 3 kids and a very hyper dog so i feel like everyone’s definition of noise will be different but to me it does not.
