“What is that silver piece in the middle of the burner for can it be removed and why does the burner goes down after reaching the highest point I don't like it especially when I am frying it throws the flow of frying off it is offer what can I do”

I think it’s some sort of sensor and they are faulty. I bought universal burner elements off Amazon and that fixed my issues of the burners cooling down. The new burners cook beautifully!

The burner will cycle off and on as indicated to maintain the temperature so it will not need to stay on continuously.
