A:AnswerWhirlpool ice maker is available at Best Buy or $100. Water line kits sell for about $25 to tap into existing water lines.

A:AnswerIt has a large freezer -- the reason (along with the price) I decided on this made-in-mexico unit that is NOT energy efficient (436kw/h rated, as opposed to 386 or 393 for other units). But the freezer is 6.1 cubic feet, and has lots of space. I actually freeze more stuff than I have in a normal fridge section, and if I could've found a 18.2 size fridge with similar space I would've opted for that (largest freezer space I could find in an 18.2 or 18.3 is a GE with 5.1 freezer space -- most of them only have freezers with 4.0 space). So I got a 20.5 size fridge (this one), made in mexico, seems kind of cheap (even the surface of the main door had imperfections) and is not energy efficient at all, but it DOES have a nice large freezer. If that is important to you and you can't afford something fancy at twice the price, there's not a lot of options. I got this one because of that.
A:AnswerHello Valerie! Your unit will be delivered with the doors. If you need to remove the doors the depth without the doors is 28 1/2". The depth with the doors is 32 7/8". Thank you for your inquiry on our Whirlpool appliances.
A:AnswerHi Joyce, we would recommend adding food grade oil to the hinges to help. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Whirlpool appliances!
A:AnswerYes. It's a cheap, built-in-Mexico unit and certainly runs louder than the old one it replaced. You get used to it after a while, but there's no doubt it runs louder than the older, better whirlpools
A:AnswerIts the seal. I bought 6 for some apartments and had this happen to one of the units. Call for warranty service. They will come and caulk around the seal. Basically, air is getting allowing moisture in and causing the ice build up. Annoying, but simple fix.

A:Answercannot vouch for the monochromatic stainless steel (the cheaper one) but we bought the 'Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel' model WRT311FZDZ for about $260 more and have no problems at all with smudges, fingerprints, etc. We looked at quite a few models of Whirlpool and other brands with stainless steel and then smudge-resistant stainless steel and we did see a big difference. Apparently, if you want smudge / fingerprint resistant, you get what you pay for. We've had the fridge about 45 days now and no prints, even with a 2 year old grandson running around.
A:AnswerDixie, the refrigerator can be adjusted to tilt slightly backwards. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Whirlpool appliances!
A:AnswerNO, it is NOT EnergyStar rated. It's also quite inefficient, with an Energy Guide rating of 436kw/hr. More energy efficient ones that I compared to have number of 386, 393, etc for similar size (20.X cubic feet), similar style (top freezer) and similar features (compare the numbers with NO icemaker installed). It's probably better than the fridge you had 25 years ago, but is certainly not efficient compared to other choices out there today...
