I think 3" might be a little tight. I measured and to be safe I think you will need at least 5" of clearance for the shelves to roll out easily. With that said, the door is reversible, so perhaps you could switch the door to open in the other direction away from the wall.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.At 90 degrees the shelves hit the door gasket as you pull them out. It more annoying that a real operational hindrance. The room with the side wall should help.
