Yes, the shelves are removable. You'd have to take out 2-3 shelves to get standup clearance depending on bottle size.

I ordered my Wine Cooler on July 15th of this year ( 2021 ) and it was supposed to be delivered on February 9th, then it was rescheduled to 2/27, then again to 3/27, then to 3/29, and now until 4/10. So do to Covid and all other issues we are having with getting product into this country and elsewhere, I'm not sure if it will even be here on 4/10. Please try again later.So, after multiple delays in delivery for this Whirlpool appliance (last one delivery ‘change’ was mid-June), I cancelled this and bought a different make (Smith & Hanks) that was delivered last week. Looks great, fits in the space and the shelves are removable so bottles can stand upright. It concerns me that, like the person above that answered my questions with his delivery issues, Best Buy was selling these and setting up delivery dates only to have the delivery date continually (3 times over the course of a week) pushed back months. Best Buy was very good about cancelling my order and crediting my VISA.
