• I suppose it is both. It could stand alone and in my case it slides in between two cabinets. It does stand on the floor.

• A slide in is supposed to have a "lip" on both sides and the back, to cover the cabinet all around. This one does not have one and has a 1 inch gap between the range and the cabinet. This is not a slide in but a free standing range. The first picture is what it's supposed to look like.I am very disappointed.
