What does Air Fry mode "when connected" mean? null

The convection modes, along with some other modes, such as air fry, is an enhanced feature, meaning the oven needs to connect to the internet at least once to make sure it's using the most up-to-date software for that mode. I have been able to use these modes with the wifi down after initial set up and occasional updates on the ranges wifi connection.
