Pull up your performance monitor from task manager. Start your game. When it lags go back and look at the performance. If your RAM is capped then yes, you may need more memory. It could also be your CPU... Just see which category is capped out in performance monitor and it should give you a clue.

The quickest fix if all of that is true is get the fastest speed of RAM your motherboard will handle and get 16gb at least. Im a Nvidia (EVGA specifically) fan boy but recently bought this exact card because upgrading to Windows 10 from windows 7 killed my fps performance (like 15 fps as compared to 45-50 constant fps with a older yet still good nvidia). This card helped me out a ton but soon found out my RAM was limiting me.
