• Yes, it is basically a 2 channel stereo amplifier with a radio (AM and FM) so it’s called a Receiver. Works great for driving loud speakers.

• Yes, you can you this receiver as an amplifier. It has limited inputs and outputs, but if you are not running a lot of other stereo components, it will work.
