Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It has 4 HDMI inputs and a output HDMI port for your tv with the ARC (audio return channel). I’m currently using my tv for all my inputs and only have it connected to my tv through the HDMI with the ARC. The Yamaha will sense what component is providing the sound and lists it in the display when I switch my tv to the various sources connected to my tv even though they aren’t physically connected to the Yamaha, it seems to have a communication interface that gets the information from my tv through the ARC in the HDMI. For example, while I’m watching Netflix on my Apple TV connected to my Tv, the display on the receiver reads Living Room as the name of my Apple TV is Living Room. If I switch to my PlayStation, it will sense it and change the display readout to PlayStation. I’m not sure if anyone else has picked up on this feature of this system but, I like it. I didn’t really have to change anything when I got this system other than switching out the main receiver and speakers. I already had my speaker wire ran through my living room. The only issue I had with the wires was that my previous system had wires connected to the speakers and plugs on the ends to connect to the Sony BluRay/Home Theater. I just cut the wires off the speakers and cut the plugs off the ends and connected them to the new speakers and the receiver. It was literally cut, plug and, play.
