Can you connect a record player to this reiciver null

It depends on what kind of record player you have and what kind of audio output the record player has. If it has RCA hookups (the red and white) or bluetooth capabilities then you should be able to connect it. If your record player is older and has a headphone jack they sell a special cable that is the 3.5mm headphone (male) on one end and RCA (male) on the other which you could use to connect to the surround sound.
