Since these speakers need a music signal driven by a sufficient amplifier, you would probably not be able to connect them directly to a TV output and if you did it would not be powerful enough to make you happy. You need an intermediate device that takes the sound output signal from the TV (preferably an optical audio out) and then converts it and amplifies it, and provides speaker cable connections for you speakers. The easiest way is a receiver, although it's admittedly clunky, but can offer good power and sound.
