- Answer need to check that it is on audio mode for tv. If that doesnt work usually turning the TV off and then back on resets it.

- Answer Depends on the ports, you could use Bluetooth or an adapter to the ports like USB and HDMI. There is at least one port on the front as well.

QuestionWhy is receiver listed as 145 watts per channel RMS when it's only 70 watt rms? Peak dynamic power to two channels with a 6 ohm load should not be advertised as RMS, because that IS NOT what rms means.

- Answer You should be able to connect a turntable but you would need to buy a phono preamp to route the input through. They are not that expensive.

- Answer If the receiver was designed to use a 6 to 8 Ohm speaker, then changing the speaker to a 3 Ohm type will demand more current from the audio amplifier. This might damage the amplifier or cause the sound to be distorted for lack of proper current through the speaker

QuestionI am not by any means a die hard audiophile...A rookie at best. Does the Yamaha RX-V385BL have enough power to thump a pair of JBL ND 310's ?? The speakers are 250 watts @ 8 ohms. I have not heard them in 6-7 yrs now. I forgot what they sound like.
