Speakers connected to the receiver are automatically cut off when headphones are plugged in. Not so when a blue tooth device is connected so if the you want the speakers to turn off you have to mute the receiver.

Also found this answer on Amazon for this model: "Question: Don't see a speaker on/off button. Can you turn off the speaker output for headphone only listening? Answer: When you plug in headphones, the speaker output is shut off. "
