I'm not sure about Roku, but yes, I got an error message when I want to play Netflix from my iPad to TV that I previously have no problem with my old Yamaha receiver, it asks me to play Netflix directly from TV. But, I can play it through Apple TV without the issue, I guess the TV mentioned in the error message is referring to Apple TV, not my VIZIO TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Maybe it's the TV. Your WiFi (or wired connection) from the router goes to the TV first. The TV then outputs to the AV receiver. Try disconnecting the receiver from the TV and see if there's any difference. Or, if using WiFi try an Ethernet cable connected directly to the TV
