• No, my comcast remote will not control soundbar. But the smart tv remote does control the soundbar when connected to the dedicated audio hdmi return port. So no issues.

• I do not know. I bought this sound bar for my nearly-deaf obstinate father-in-law. I placed it 2 feet from him, he uses it for only the TV.
