Yes and no. The cover is basically a lid that snaps onto the front of the iPad's Otterbox case, protecting the screen from damage when transporting or storing it. When the iPad is in use, the cover snaps onto the back of the iPad, exposing the screen for use. The cover has an integrated kick-stand for propping up your iPad. So it's not necessarily a screen protector (glass-like), but more of a screen cover. I had to purchase a glass screen proctor in addition to the otterbox defender pro for my iPad.
