It works well with my Logitech Combo Touch keyboard. It shouldn't be an issue with the Smart Keyboard.

I am not quite sure if I understand your question so here is my best answer. My best way to answer your question is I installed the VISIONGUARD on the 12.5 Pro i-pad itself. It is on the i-pad not on the keyboard and it does not affect or interfere how the keyboard functions. One thing I did [and I am glad I did] before installing the screen protector was to check if it was the correct one for my device 12.9in Pro i-pad, 5th Generation I found out that it did make a difference, so having the correct one is important. Other than that all functions of the i-pad and keyboard are normal.
