It will not work for a the original ipad air. The size of the original ipad air is slightly different the buttons are in slightly different locations. So no.

As long you as get the correct case, it fits perfectly. You need to make sure it is for the Air 2. All the cut outs and ports align perfectly.

yes, great fit. camera on back has a slight coverage, easy to fix with pocket knife. wasn't worry to me, i don't use the camera on my air so wasn't a problem for me.
