Hi Willy, The aluminum mesh filters installed by the factory are intended to filter out residue and grease from cooking. They need not be replaced on a regular basis but are required to be kept clean. Remove and clean by hand or in dishwasher using a non-phosphate detergent. Discoloration of the filter may occur if using phosphate detergents, or as a result of local water conditions - but this will not affect filter performance. This discoloration is not covered by the warranty. Spray degreasing detergent and leave to soak if heavily soiled. Dry filters and re-install before using hood.
