• The case stays in all the time. There is a groove in the top that allows the Apple Pencil to fit snuggly.

• It can charge the Apple Pencil with the case on. It has a protective lip that keeps it nicely in place also. It also has a place on the back where you can also store your Apple Pencil or another writing utensil.
