Better than the Bose QC35 II

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced a pair of Bose QC35 IIs with these headphones, and I would say that while the Bose headphones are very good, the XM4 is superior in nearly every respect, with regard to ANC effectiveness, sound quality, bass. I'm a little annoyed, with long hair, with the double-tap to pause feature though, it takes a few tries to get right sometimes, and I miss having an actual button for that like with the QC35 IIs

Best sounding headphones, with one annoying issue

They were very comfortable, easy to use, and sounded great. They could pair with 2 devices at once, so I could use them with my Iphone and Macbook together. I ultimately returned these though due to an annoying hissing sound in the right ear cup. I had tried many things to correct it, but after looking it up online, I saw many people with the same issue. The problem is with the way the noise cancelling corrects for quiet environments. If I deactivate the noise cancelling, the hissing goes away. However, I bought these to be ultra quiet. Hopefully Sony with correct this issue so I can buy an updated version.

The noise cancellation is perfect for drowning all sound. I love wearing them to listen to instrumental music while I work, and after having them on for several hours I could still say I barely feel them on.

I use them in the bus and train regularly, and I hear very little background noise. The feature set is unparalleled! These headphones hold a charge for 2 weeks when used only a few hours daily. The voice text notifications, voice battery power indicator, and built-in Google Assistant are super useful features I'd never had on headphones before. If you can afford these, buy them.

They’re nice to use around the house when I’m cleaning, when I’m working and needing to concentrate, or if I simply want to lounge and listen to music. They’re comfortable. The sound is awesome. I like how you’re able to use the google assistant. I contemplated going for the beats because of their price, and I am happy I didn’t make that mistake. These are more expensive, but they are well worth the money spent

Softest, Most Comfortable to Wear

These are excellent for form fitting softness. The sound quality is great. My only issue with them is the headphones smell like chemicals. That's a deal breaker for me, but not for my spouse.

I was looking at another brand until the associate told me to listen to these before I made my decision. So glad I listened to his advice. Have to add that I have Cauliflower ear and most cheap over the ear brands kill my ears after a few minutes. Not the case with these, I sometimes forget that I have them on.

If you find the bass slightly lacking, you can easily customize the audio profile in the Sony | Headphones Connect app. Go to the Sound tab and use the Equalizer settings; you can either select the "Bass Boost" preset or, for the best results, use the custom EQ and increase the horizontal Clear Bass slider, which is specifically designed to add low-end punch without distorting the overall sound.

My XM3's are dying and the XM4's have updated Bluetooth to allow for multiple device connections. These may be two versions old, but the XM5/6's do not fold up as compactly and, as reviews point out, the headband may be slightly tighter. ANC is great and the sound is balanced.

Great friend for your ears

However you might have to switch the audio output during a call (on rare occasions, people have complained about not being able to hear me properly). With that being said, the design is really great, the earpads are soft and I’ve spent 5-6 hours straight with no urgency to take it out because of ear pain. It works with Siri but sometimes you will have to be close to the phone so it activates. It’s a device with a lot of potential and I even wonder whether the performance is better when paired with a Sony Smartphone or if it’s the same with all smartphones.

Its handy since it can be folded and carried around easily in a pouch. I personally enjoy the sound quality in all my sony headphones. The bass might be slightly better in the bose 700 but its usually hard to tell the difference. These headphones are absolutely worth the price.

I can even sleep on my side with them. it charges with USB C, which is awesome because of the many usb c devices I have. The touch gestures, auto pause when taken off and noise cancellling on these are just some of the features that make it so great. The only negative thing is that it doesn't feel or look all that premium. I guess the lightness of the headphones had to come at a cost from somewhere.

These were super light, but still feel as durable as the last pair. The sound and noise canceling are still great! Being able to finally pair with 2 devices is a great addition. However the speak for turn off NC is kinda useless. Thankfully you can turn that off. I highly recommend these headphones! They're great!

Not for long hours

But my only complaint is it hurts the top of my head. Everything else is awesome! Pros: -Good noise canceling -Good sounds -calls are clear and good -2 bluetooth (this could get annoying sometimes too, cause they tell you every time it connects/disconnects) -great battery life -nice looking headphones Cons: -Hurts the top of my head and ears (when I have my glasses or wears them too long) -Annoying how it goes to ambient mode when you start talking (not good if you like to sing along to music) Honeslty not sure if it's worth the price tag, but it does help me study better at home, as my neighbors likes to party alot.
