These headphones are incredible for the price especially when compared to the newer model. The app that comes with them make them so much better. I used AirPod pros for most of my traveling but the noise canceling on these are so much better and much more comfortable for longer trips.

The headphones themselves and its inner system is solid, and its sound quality is great. Its also been a bit since i've got them and theres no signs of wear and tear or battery deterioration yet. The only nitpick to make is its accompanying app for your phone, and while it can give you more customization for the headphones, the app is buggy and currently isn't letting me update the headphones software. Regardless, the headphones and its bluetooth, noise canceling, and wired mode are all top notch.

I was a bit nervous at first after hearing a few comments on a difference in sound signature on the XM4's but have yet to notice any significant change. While the rock solid sound quality remains very similar to the XM3's there is a noticeable improvement in ANC on the XM4's. I have used almost every high end wireless ANC headphone on the market and every time go back to this pair. It's the perfect combination of comfort, quality, and performance at a reasonable price!

The noise cancelation across the entire audio spectrum including an aircraft interior is impressive. Balance and fidelity are excellent. Controls are simple to master. The one negative is the relatively fragile feel of the head phones compared to older models.

It was a confusing task to select between different brands. The Sonys were $100 less than the Bose and we weren’t sure if they would do the job. We bought 2 pairs for a super long flight to Africa and they were life savers. The noise cancellation is excellent.

They really do tune out about 95% of ambient noise and I live in quite a busy/loud home. The bass on these is great too and they’re quite comfortable for extended wear.

I connected it to my tv to watch movies with and I felt it was great compared to other Bluetooth headphones. I personally like bass so that’s what separated it from the other headphones I was looking at and I listened to In store. They have an auto noise canceling feature when you put them on. Also, I noticed when I talked, the headphones turned off noise cancellation so I was able to hear everything and have a conversation. After not talking for a few seconds. The noise cancellation turned back on. That was the coolest feature I ever saw.

The Best Get Better

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Man, where do I start, I am a Tech Addict and have all the newest headphones out and I have been using the Bose 700’s for months as I have came to realize those were the best available while I waited for Sony to come out with the XM4’s. It was worth the wait. The sound is great, the Bluetooth connection to two devices was much needed as Bose had that as well. I will say that the Bose 700’s are in fact more comfortable and are for sure better for phone calls but sound, looks, battery and the app for the Sony XM4’s have them beat. I still use both but lean towards the Sony’s.

Highly recommend if you get easily over stimulated. I use these where-ever I go and it has a nice battery life. I also like how you can customize your sound. You can adjust the bass, treble, and all in between. I’m no audiophile but to my average person ears they’re amazing. It is pricey but a good investment. I see myself using these for years to come.

Well, never have I ever. I usually stick to included earbuds which are no longer or those less than $20. So, this was a splurge and one that was well worth it. I got it on sale but would totally buy it at full price. These are THAT good. The Sony app is actually useful and has a myriad of settings to dial in the optimal sound for the environment. It also allows you to adjust ANC to be able to hear ambient sounds. One of my most used features is the gesture that if you hold the right ear cup, it'll pause music. It can also pause music if you start talking. There are too many features to list here. Overall, I would recommend these all day long.

They are a lifesaver on flights, the noise cancelling is some of the best on the market, as is the audio quality. The foldability is another benefit, and they are comfortable to wear over long periods of time. I would even say the foldability and wearing comfort make it better than the XM5 model.

After 16 hrs on a plane, my ears don’t ache because of the supreme padding. I bought Bose, which are supposed to be the best, don’t waste your money on the Bose. The Sony really is noise cancellation! Even screaming babies & loud crying kids on a plane were silenced. I will buy another Sony headset.
