The fit is super comfortable, and don’t make my ears sweat like some other over the hear headphones. The touch and voice-activated operations seem a bit overly sensitive, but I just turned them off through the app until I can figure them out. And love that they came with a great case for travel and protection. Really enjoying them so far!

We understand that the touch and voice-activated controls can be a bit sensitive at first. Many users find it takes a little time to get the hang of the proper gestures for things like skipping tracks and adjusting volume.
Regarding the voice-activated features like "Speak-to-Chat," it's designed to automatically pause your music when it detects your voice, which can be great for quick conversations but sometimes a little too reactive. Disabling it in the Sony | Sound Connect app—which is great that you've already used the app to customize your settings.

And best of all, their battery life is crazy. I use them work Tidal Master sound quality and it’s like I’m there with the artists sometimes. I wish the interface on the app were better, and that I could change the voice of the menu when using them, but whatever. You won’t regret the purchase. And best part is, I can connect them (with a 3.5” Jack) to my vinyl record player (I use an Audiotechnica player) and the sound is exactly what I was looking for.

Phenomenal noise cancelling headphones

My only small issue with them is the touch gestures for going to the next song track, answering the phone, etc. aren't always consistent - I feel like I have to swipe the cup of the headphones multiple times before it actually does what I want it to do.

Worth the high price

It's got some bass but not too much. Unlike other high end headphone (coughbeatscough), there's some actual high end to this, so sound like symbols aren't lost. The active noise cancelation works a treat too, blocking out most things. It's not complete because there isn't a seal around the ears, but that plus the light weight, makes these things really comfy to wear.

Brilliant Headphones, Best Sound Ever

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a hardcore Sony MDR fan for years (many studio models over the past decade and a half or two), and found myself on an emergency run to Best Buy after a new kitten in my house decided to gnaw through my line. I got the BB, and they had some of these on display... I'd never used noice cancelling before, so I put 'em on my head and turned them on. Whoa. I almost felt like they were sucking onto my head (they weren't, but noise cancelling isn't the same as noise reduction... it's a head trip). They sound as good as any MDRs I've owned, if not better. No lag when dealing with audio/video production or meetings, they last all day and night, and they charge super quickly. There are two types of interface on the phones themselves... two physical buttons as well as a touch-enabled area. I can see the value of the features of the touch sensitive tools, but if you're an old studio bay head like me, you'll appreciate that there's a free Sony app that you can use to turn off all that stuff. One thing to keep in mind... if you wear phones every day for hours a day, you might want to consider getting a darker color. The elements of time tend to show up with a bit of unwanted contrast on these lighter colored phones. Lastly, these things do come with a pretty long cable, so if you ever need to wire up you can do that. Via the app I mentioned, you can connect these to two different devices at once.

I like these more than the XH-1000XM5 because these for easier storage in backpacks. Let me say 2 things, these are NOT GYM FRIENDLY. I do see people wearing these at the gym but the leather does not feel like it is meant for sweat or being wet for extended periods of time. I am biased because personally I prefer how wireless earbuds feel but defintely feel more like the type of headphones you would wear at an office, library, bus, or even home if you have loud roommates/neighbors. noise canceling is phenomenal! I love wearing these when I vacuum because if i turn the music loud enough, i can barely hear the vacuum! Touch controls: I gotta say that I am not a fan of touch controls, i would prefer physical buttons like the Bose QC45 Why i prefer these over the Bose QC45: Placing your hands over the right ear-cup temporarily activates and boosts the microphones and lowers your music/audio that allows you to hear your outside environment. Theoretically you can just jam out to music but if someone starts talking to you, this feature is the best! My only pain with these headphones is that they are heavy and get SUPER HOT after an hour or two. I find that after extended periods of time with the noise canceling mode on, my ears start to turn red and sweat. I hate this alot but it seems to be my personal experience with ALL noise cancelling headphones i have tried. The QC 45s are easier to wear for extended periods of time if that is more important to you but there is always going to be something that can be improved upon in every product so pick your poison QC45: Extended comfort + Physical buttons vs XM4s: Ambient Sound pass through + superior features

The setup was quick and easy and the app offers some great features to enhance the listening experience. The noise cancelling is fantastic and the headphones fit very comfortably. The best part is the sound quality, crisp highs, deep bass and low end, and the midrange is clean and not overpowering. I have been listening for hours on my first charge, and the app shows I still have many more hours left. Great purchase!

Noise cancelling works just like the words imply. You can always calibrate it with a push of a button if you find it lacking noise cancellation. Comfort is perfect. I usually wear these when taking a 20 minute nap listening to white noise. I sleep like a baby. Battery life has been phenomenal. App works great. Touch sensors work great.

I have not been disappointed. The case is nice. Has a quality look and provides a good level of protection. The headphones look and feel high quality. Not at all blingy, more understated. The headband and ear pads are well padded and comfortable for extended listening sessions. Pairing is extremely easy. The phone app is well integrated and easy to use. The included quick start information is probably enough for most folks, but Sony has some great video's and more detailed instructions available online. There are only two physical buttons, and they feel positive and work well. The touch control using the right earpad is simple, and works well. The proximity sensor in the left ear cup pauses what you are listening to if you lift the left ear cup or take off the headphones. Holding your hand over the right ear cup mutes the level down so you can hear ambient sounds better, or have a conversation. The chat to pause feature works well, and can be turned off. If you start talking it pauses what you are listening to. The adjustment level for ambient noise works well and provides some graphic's that provide some guidance for various environments. A quick press of the power button brings a voice that tells you the battery charge status. The sound is impressive. Very impressive. I listen to a lot of high res music, I primarily use the LDAC codec and have been extremely impressed by the audio quality. Listening to high quality FLAC files you will hear nuances of the music you probably haven't heard before. LDAC really blurs the line between wired and wireless. I would recommend these to anyone that values quality audio and effective noise cancelling. Even without the superb noise cancelling these would be worthwhile for the audio performance alone. Sony got everything about these right, including the app.

As someone with sensory sensitivities, these have been an absolute lifesaver. They are incredibly comfortable and block out an amazing amount of irritating noises and sounds. The sound quality through them is crystal clear and pristine. I wish they offered more color options! These are WORTH EVERY PENNY. Battery life is incredible on them too!
