Decent headphones but…

Not to mention the inability to change settings of the headphones on a mac (main reason why i got it).

We understand the Sony | Sound Connect app is not available on Mac devices, but it can be found on your iPhone on the App Store. Nevertheless, we are glad you are enjoying the ANC, as the WH1000XM4 is known for its outstanding noise-canceling capabilities, which effectively reduce ambient sounds, and its capability to deliver deep and powerful bass, which can be further enhanced using the Bass Boost feature in the Equalizer settings. Great but not the Bose-killer

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted these to outperform my Bose 700s, since I felt like the XM3s beat out the QC 35s in every way except some small annoying things (manual device switching, one device connection, etc.). I waited anxiously for months for their release and bought them right away. They’re good, but not great. They solved some of the small annoying things, but they still make you very reliant on a pretty non-friendly app interface to control your headphones. The touch controls are ok but it hammers your ear drum when you tap on the ear cups. The ANC and sound quality seemed to me to be almost identical to the XM3s, which I also owned. Very good in both cases, energetic sound, punchy bass, and almost no outside noise and very low hiss. These are really good headphones, but sadly, still not a Bose-killer for me. The 700s have the ANC edge, the phone call clarity edge, the fullest sound, and the easiest setup and app usability edge.

Great Noise Cancellation & Quality Sound

They are very loud but with noise cancelling on other noises just don't exist anymore. Bass is pretty good. Not too heavy but a great level for listening to various types of music.

Amazing bass

I also use these while watching movies. I definitely recommend, one thing I don’t like is my ears get hot while wearing but that’s a me issue.

Yes, the price is up there but these are premium headphones. I've had them for a month now and I wear them about 5-6 hours a day. Super comfortable and don't give me a headache. I have a pair of wireless Beats and my only complaint is the comfort or lack of it from them just an hour or so into use. The sound stage and noise-canceling options are icing on the cake. The ability to "turn off" the sounds around me is amazing. If you are debating getting these headphones, they are currently on sale, get them! You will not be disappointed.

Must have for parents & anyone else needing focus

I bought the midnight blue for my husband. He loves it. We are parents. Does it block out my child with a self-professed love of nonstop talking? Not if we're in the same room. But it does make everything much quieter when I need to focus. It helped me finish my degree. I listened to music on a flight recently. I did not hear the baby crying. I love the extra features, too. Simply touching fingers to the headset to navigate controls is awesome. Very comfortable to wear.

GREAT noise reduction headphones, but not perfect

Here is a short list of great features, and those that we’re disappointing: Pros GREAT price (for its level of quality) Sound quality (my favorite sound of any headphones) Comfort Sony app (some great custom options) USB-C charging Hardline connection (essential for travelers who want to use inflight entertainment systems) Cons Physical controls on the right headphone (just an absolute mess... I end up skipping songs everytime when I try to change the volume) Sony app (the never ending pushing to allow location to be turned on is annoying and disturbing... RESPECT USER PRIVACY) Overall a fantastic buy with just a couple of flaws especially given the recent price reductions.

The side of the headphones is a control panel and it is super easy to use! The battery life also last a while and I’m a frequent user. If you’re looking for something loud with quality? These are it! Note: just turn the speak option off if you’re a singer because your headphones will think your talking to someone

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The ANC is the best I ever heard, I tested it with a loud bathroom exhaust fan and it is able to almost completely remove the noise. You cannot ever hear the toiled flushing! Really, really impressive. Comfort is also exceptional, you can wear it for many hours without even remembering you have it. The sound quality is good for commuters, frequent travelers, and for outdoor listening, which is the main target of this product. However, if you are looking for Hi-Fi, this is not the right product and you should look for brands specialized on high fidelity. Like other reviewers noticed, the bass are not well controlled and the midranges, in particular voices, are muffled. You can correct this in some extent by using the built in app, but overall you will still miss some excitement.
