Sony ruined it

Did not realize that they do this. I have Bose noise cancelling headphones and they do not do that. Only gripe because they are actually good.

What you're experiencing is a feature called Speak-to-Chat. It’s designed to automatically pause your music and let in ambient sound as soon as you start speaking, so you can have a quick conversation without taking your headphones off. We understand it can be unexpected if you prefer to sing along or talk while listening!
The good news is that you can easily turn this off. You can either:
Use the App: Disable "Speak-to-Chat" in the Sony | Headphones Connect app.
Use a Gesture: Place two fingers on the right ear cup touch sensor and hold until you hear "Speak-to-chat deactivated."

I handed down the other two to my wife and son when I got this. The main reason for getting these is the ability to pair to two devices. I decided on the Blue color (XM2 were tan and XM3 were silver) I think the color is MUCH better in person. The copper "SONY" accents make these pretty classy looking. The case color matches the blue and the Zipper pull is the copper color. If you haven't had the Sony before, you cant go wrong. Price is better than Bose....and so is the sound and noise cancelling.

I forgot to bring these on a flight and definitely missed them. They are also great for an office environment, if you need to focus and get work done. The microphones are okay for the type of device, but certainly don't replace a headset with a proper microphone arm.

They became pretty flat around 3 months after i git them, but i wore them like 24/7. I dont regret getting them though. I sometimes go all week without having to charge them.

New favorite headphones

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Build and sound quality are up there with all of the Bose headsets I've purchased before this set, but I personally feel that these blow Bose and Beats out of the water, especially since I paid less for these than the comprable headphones from other brands. Also, the look of these headphones is a lot better than the others in my opinion. Only problem I've had is getting the built in mic to play nicely with discord on my laptop, whether it's in wired mode with an audio/mic splitter, or in wireless mode.
