I have a windows 7 machine and it installed it right away and was ready to use. The keys are very smooth. It was a great buy at this price.

All you have to do is plug in the receiver into the USB port and starts to sync with the keyboard and mouse withen minutes. Perfect for space as it reduces 2 wires connected to the computer.

I bought it for my son who is a college student and it is perfect for him. He utilizes it for school papers and assignments and also said he uses it as a remote for his tv.
