Took longer to take the product out of the box than to install it. Once hooked up it took about three minutes to download updated software. Then had to log on to get telephone number. Web site walks you through setting up the system but somewhat lacks explanations as to what happens if you do this or that. Minor problem. Works well once installed. $39 to transfer old number seem a little high?

ok system. This is a backup line. They upgraded me when I did not ask, though and I did not get a chance to see it. I was not happy with their billing practices. Watch your bill.

Telo by Ooma. I had the Hub previously and liked it. I do miss the Hub however. You could walk in the room and see a red light flashing and know you had a message. With the Telo it's a yellow arrow (small) and you have to get practically right on top of it to see it.

*you still have to pay local taxes which equate to a few dollars per month. I pay 3.60 per month in local fees (such as 911 and taxes). But for the price, you can FAX, Call international for cheap (load up a prepaid account), and enjoy Free* USA and canada calls.

Great device for telephone and communication needs

I purchased a magic jack 4 months ago, and immediately started getting dropped calls with it. Despite numerous calls to MJ tech support, they were never able to solve the problem, which they said was a known problem with their equipment. Got tired of calls dropping after 4-5 minutes, so I decided to get rid of the MJ abd replace it with an OOMA. Setting up the OOMA was a breeze, it works perfectly and I have made many calls with it lasting almost 20 minutes each, and not one problem with anything including dropped calls. Don't waste your money with magic Jack, spend a few more dollars and buy something that works.

This is a WOW! Not only did I get a great price through Best Buy, but I also got superior customer service with OOMA. Highly recommend purchasing from BB and then connecting with OOMA.

Had the premium package but now we use our cell phones, and you can forward cell phone voicemails unlike Ooma ones. Horrible customer service. You have to call to cancel, at which point they repeatedly ask you if you want a different plan or their security package - basically the Spanish Inquisition. If you make it through that first rep, knowing that you really want to cancel your subscription, you are transferred to a cancellation Service rep, who asks you the same questions. It is consumer harassment, just like my experiencing cancelling my SiriusXM subscription. Once I finally cancelled, it was effective immediately and the rep didn’t tell me that - i thought it would be effective at the time of subscription renewal. Horrible communication and not a transparent process. An awful experience. Will never buy a product or subscription from this company. Buyer beware.

Easy to install and worked well so far. Be aware a free trial of the "Premiere" version is automatically added. Uou must cancel it if you don't want to pay extra monthly fee.

I have had my OOma box for 6 years.....works great... basic service with answer machine ....pay a little upfront for box...only $5. per month for landline.Smooth Phone number porting--that was years ago!!

Very good product. I Have used it for many years. Had a problem with my internet so ordered a new one.

Works great. Easy to set up. Clear calls and voicemail.

After the initial cost (the box) my monthly bill is under 4 bucks. Setup and use are easy. I have a fax machine also and I have no issues using it for that purpose.

I love this device! It works anywhere there is an Internet connection. It has cut my spam calls in half.

I have had 3 Ooma lines in the past couple of years. They have worked hard to earn a 1 star rating. There is bad voice quality with a lot of skipping, and it does not work for fax unless you have all day to try over and over. They will not let you discontinue service without talking to someone in customer service, and good luck getting someone in a timely fashion. After you have become frustrated with the poor performance of the Ooma system, you will be welcomed to more frustration in the disconnection process that is designed to be as difficult as possible. I would not recommend this phone service to anyone.

No issues with it. Wasn't too difficult to set up.

Set-up seemed simple enough. I was able to dial out, but not receive calls. Customer service told me I had to call my current carrier and make sure certain ports on my router were open and the firewall was set properly. Not very helpful. Then the dial tone seemed to go on and off. This seems to be too complicated and unreliable, and don't want to continue. Disappointing -- especially since I did some research in advance, and asked for recommendations before purchasing in store at Best Buy. I plan on returning the device, and am not looking forward to trying to cancel my service.
