Works on PS4 with dongle

Purchased two different models but my daughter hated them so I bought these again but this time with insurance. Why can't these manufacturers make a USB jack that can stand up to kids plugging into them every day too charge an item. I have even looked for a very short adapter that I can plug into the jack and strap them to the headphones that way the kids do not have to plug into the headphones all the time. Anyone know where I can find a short (2-3") adapter?
