It was purchased as a spare to keep at our office. It works with Surface Pro 3,4,6 & 7 computers on our network.

If you did that, and then purchased this charger, you could then charge your device, as Microsoft intended.

When I plug it in the laptop seems me that it will not charge it eve though this is the cord the Best Buy staff told Me was the only one available for the Surface.
