    This remote only works consistently with new batteries. Once the batteries have aged, the remote will not function properly. You will not be able to change channels, sometimes you cannot even turn off the TV. I press the "on" button followed by the "off" button, back and forth until it works again, and only for one of two channel changes. Sometimes, removing the battery cover and rotating the batteries and it will work again. And don't ever drop the remote. Finally, I bought new batteries and the remote has worked really well for two weeks now.

    This remote is the gold standard for remotes. For the money you can't beat it. simple to setup and use, no problems at all.

    This item is an older Logitech Harmony model. In order to use the remote to it's full capabilities you have to use the included cable and attach the cable to a Personal Computer to set up remote keys. Anyway the remote worked on first try with my LG Smart TV.
