It will not power a subwoofer although it has two outputs for it. the specs were not clear on What power it could output to it. My speakers were from another set on which the receiver had built in amp for subwoofer, and never checked for this one.

Great item, but no phono

Yes, that's an old technology, but that means it's also very cheap to include. And there are still people (and lots of new people) who want to use their turntables.

Unfortunately, since the receiver doesn't have a PHONO input, if you want to connect a turntable, it must have a built-in amplifier or an in-line amplifier must be used to connect the turntable to another input on the stereo system. The Sony STR-DH190 receiver has a dedicated PHONO input for connecting a turntable directly to the receiver. Thanks for choosing Sony. -Jess
