My son is impressed as he uses it as a two channel system for now. Although loves the fact that once he upgrades his tv he will be ready. The audio is detailed and warm. A real plus for him and his gaming setup.

I already knew my speaker distances, but used the auto anyway just to see. All auto measurements were accurate within a half inch with my measurements. Overall, I am happy with this purchase, I would say it was worth buying.

It runs seamlessly with other Sony devices. Many operations are performed automatically whether or not you want them to. And some options are not available (if you plug in a headphone power to the speakers is turned off, no choice).

I liked this.

Love my Sony Receiver

My old one needed to be replaced, and I can’t believe the difference. The bonus to me was the Geek Squad installed it. Had this one hooked up in place of the other unit within 10 minutes. Went through the easy setup process and was back in business. Whole setup was 20 minutes. Sound quality is good and the subwoofer settings worked great. Very pleased.

So clear, The remote for the TV also turns off the receiver. I use PolkAudio surround speakers including subwoofer. The black face of the receiver does not distract from the display.

If you want it to transmit to Bluetooth headphones or want more options for an antenna connection you will have to look to another model. Otherwise, Great receiver!

Excellent Value, Decent Features for the Money

If you need a good receiver and you're not a hardcore audiophile, this is the receiver for you. It supports ARC, but lacks sophisticated on board EQ. It does have some nifty presets though and supports a wide range of sampling and bit rates. Although likely compressed, I did manage to see it handling 24 bit 192KHz. It's used with a pair of PL-908s in front, a pair of old Sonys for the rear and a PL-200 II sub with a PL-28 II center. Make sure you're using high speed, good quality HDMI cables marked "High Speed" though for best results. Think Monster cables and aim a bit lower and you're golden. I managed to cram 12 gauge wire all around in this thing, but that's overkill. I'd go a bit higher in gauge and you'll have an easier time. That's still overkill, but makes wiring it a great deal easier. I do wish I had banana plugs all around though and not just the front left and right.
